Welcome back to Park Hill after the half term holidays – I hope you all had a restful break and wee able to spend some quality family time together. We have a lot going on in the school this half term and over the next week we will be signposting some of these key events.
As you will you will now be aware, our crossing patrol has been relocated to outside the school gates. This now leaves the Park Hill/Lower Eastern Green lane junction vulnerable for our children crossing. As I mentioned in my previous letter and blog, this decision has been taken with no consultation of the school and I have highlighted our concerns in the strongest terms possible. Unfortunately this is an area that the school has no influence over.
Before half term we launched a school wide writing competition around the theme: Park Hill 2100. Miss Nickerson launched the event in an assembly with the whole school and a letter was sent out on the Friday. The competition is for the children to write creatively about the theme in any genre of their choice. They may interpret the theme as Park Hill in the year 2100AD and write a story about pupils in the future or they may interpret the them as Park Hill at 21:00 and write a poem about magical creatures that take over the school every evening at this time. The possibilities are endless and the main aim is to encourage our children to write with a real passion; every child who enters a piece of writing will have their work published in and around school in an anthology. The winners will have their work published to the school blog and will receive a £10 Watestones voucher.
Finally, the new reception information has been added to the blog.
Have a great week.
