18th March 2014
Dear Parent or Carer,
National Strike Action by the NUT taking place on Wednesday 26th March 2014.
We have been advised by the City Council that NUT members are proposing to take strike action on Wednesday 26th March as a further step in their national dispute over pay, pensions, working conditions and jobs.
Having carefully considered the position in our school (including the operational and health and safety implications) please read the following information:
The school will be closed to the following classes:
Nursery am and pm
Reception (RH) Miss Harrison’s class
Y1/2 (LG) Miss Garner’s class
Y2 (LK) Mrs Kerby’s class
School will be open all day for the following classes and children are expected to attend as usual:
Reception (RB) Miss Beddow’s class
Y1 (LM) Miss Marlow’s class
Y3 (MDL) Miss Ling’s class
Y3/4 (ML) Mr Lawrence’s class
Y4 (MHR) Mrs Hollis’ class
Y5/6 (UN) Miss Nickerson’s class
Y5 (UP) Mrs Parashar’s class
Y6 (UBM) Mrs Bailey’s class
Where you have paid for all five school meals on the week affected by the strike action you will be credited for the meals not taken.
Buddies will remain open as normal from 7.30am-8.55am and 3.30-5.30pm. Any queries for Buddies please speak to the staff.
I appreciate that this will create inconvenience for you and your family. I have a duty to minimise disruption to pupils’ education where possible and it is our preferred option to remain partly open rather than closing the school to all pupils.
Yours sincerely
Steve Taylor
