Dear Parent or Carer,
I hope you had a productive and relaxing Easter break. As you are aware, this half term is incredibly short although there is lots going on at the school including:
- A Caribbean themed day in Middle School – this took place yesterday.
- LK class assembly at 9:10am on 9th May – all parents welcome.
- SATs week for Y6 (week beginning 12th May).
- Y6 Ford Castle trip (week beginning 19th May).
The expansion team are now beginning the main construction phase and, if you dropped your child off this morning, you will have noticed that the main hoardings for the compound have now gone up. Unfortunately, the construction team have had to claim the access path that leads up the side of the playground to Reception and Nursery and in doing so have cut off our main collection and drop off route for parents with children in these year groups. In the meantime, can I ask that all parents/carers of Reception and Nursery children access the school via the main entrance (by the office) for drop off and collection times. You will not need to press the buzzer of the gate at these times because we will release the magnetic lock to ensure there is a smooth flow through this area – during these times the office staff will be monitoring the CCTV to ensure that site safety is not compromised. I am due to meet with our site manager (Russell Sullivan) after school today to discuss the issue (including access provisions for parents/carers with buggies) and when I know more I will write to you again.
On the 5th May, St Andrews Church will be running an Allesley Green ‘Proms in the Park’. This promises to be a fun family event and our PTA will be running a chocolate tombola to raise funds for the school. With this in mind, we will be holding a non-uniform day on Friday 2nd May – all children who wish to wear their own clothes can do so for a donation of a chocolate item.
Once again, thank you for your ongoing support.
