I hope you all had an enjoyable weekend and were able to make the most of the great weather. This week is a busy one in school with a pupils and staff out at a variety of locations.
- Mrs Bailey, Mr Lawrence, Mrs Mercer, Miss Nickerson and Miss Tatham have all accompanied the Y6 pupils on the Ford Castle trip. We will send out a text when they arrive at their destination and also provide regular updates via this blog.
- Mrs Kerby, Miss Beddow and Miss Marlow are currently in Turkey as part of the Comenius Project and will return to school on Friday.
Over the next two weeks we will notice more and more work taking place on the site as part of the expansion project. As part of this process the main vehicular access route into school will be closed between 8:30 – 9:15 and 2:45 – 3:30 this is to ensure that delivery lorries are not able to deliver goods at the same time as children attending and leaving school. You will also notice that cones will be placed in front of the gates to prevent them being blocked – please refrain from dropping off in this area.
I have emailed Shirley Reynolds from the Traffic and Road Safety Team to gain an update on where we are at in terms of recruiting a new crossing patrol – I have passed on our concerns along with information of a near miss. When I hear back I will write to you.
Due to the unusual nature of this week we will carry over Star of the Week awards until after half term – this Friday will be a low key rewards assembly where children can bring in certificates etc although this will not be open to the community.
Thanks for your support,
Steve Taylor Headteacher
