I understand that many of you are unhappy at the closure of the school today due to ongoing building works. We have had all forms of trade onsite over the last three days and all jobs have now been completed to the required standard with the painters/decorators, electricians and carpenters finally finishing at 5pm today. The staff have worked incredibly hard since Monday in very difficult circumstances and I am pleased to say that the school is now ready to welcome the children tomorrow on a health and safety front and operationally.
Tomorrow, I will be writing in further detail regarding the delay in opening and this, I feel, will clarify matters further and hopefully put your mind at rest that everything was done to try and avoid Wednesday’s closure. I am keen to ensure that there is a strong and committed working relationship with all parents and therefore, I will be holding an open meeting after school at 3:30pm tomorrow (Thursday 4th Sep) to discuss the issue further. This meeting will take place in the hall straight after school and you are welcome to collect your children and attend. If you are unable to attend this meeting but would like the opportunity to see me then please make an appointment through the office.
Thank you for your understanding and support.
